Accra Hearts of Oak is closing in to name Serbian trainer Slavko Matic as the club’s new head coach, Angelonline.com.gh understands.

The 46-year-old UEFA Pro Licence holder when officially named will fill in the vacant position to become Samuel Boadu’s successor.

The phobians have been without a substantive coach after relieving Boadu of his post prior to their two-legged CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers against Malian side AS Real Bamako having appointing David Ocloo as a deputy coach.

Their Africa campaign was eventually cut short at the Accra Sports Stadium despite winning 1-0 in the second leg tie having already lost 3-0 in the first leg played in Mali.
