The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will struggle to claim 60 seats in parliament in the 2024 general elections, the chairman of the NDC in the Greater Accra Joseph Ade Coker has projected.

Speaking on the Thursday edition of the Anopa Bofo morning show on Angel 102.9FM and Angel TV hosted by Kwamina Sam Biney, he said there is going to be an implosion within the ruling party considering the calling for Ken Ofori-Atta’s head, following the hardship in the country.

According to him, the mismanagement of the economy under the NPP is so dire that there is nothing they can do to recover it and will cause Ghanaians to vote them out.

He argued that Ghanaians are dying of hunger as a result of the woes created by the NPP, therefore, he is convinced winning 60 parliamentary seats will become a hard nut to crack.

“The NPP government have borrowed so much and what is eating the country now is not Ukraine/Russia war, Covid…. the fact is that they have borrowed beyond reasonableness and our economy is not producing enough revenue to pay debt when they are due and so you will continue to continually print new money,” he added.

He said inflation is now 40% due to the fact that prices keep on changing from time to time and that it’s going to cause a serious implosion which has already started.

Ade Coker emphasised that, “if the NPP are calling for the sacking of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, then it is a sign that the President must sack himself because “they are umbilical cord attached together,” so “how can you cut one and leave one?”

He said the NDC has a better record in terms of managing the economy of the country compared to the NPP, hence, they are keen to rescue Ghanaians from the hardship should they vote them back into power in 2024.
