The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) is implementing a Pilot Planting for Food and Jobs Market at its premises beginning today Friday, November 11, 2022.
The intervention is to “mitigate the impact of rising food prices on the real incomes of Civil and Local Government Workers”, according to the MoFA in a press statement issued on Thursday. November 10, 2022.
The ministry would therefore be conveying food items from food-growing areas across the country under the Planting for Food and Job initiative to sell at affordable prices for government workers.
Food items expected to be on sale are yam, rice and plantain which are considered to be very expensive items on the market currently.
