Some unidentified persons have cut down high-tension wooden electricity poles at the Krobo enclave of the Eastern Region.

The incident is believed to have happened on Friday, November 11, however, personnel from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) who noticed the incident quickly replaced it.

According to officials of the power distribution company, it is not clear when the incident happened but they noticed it on Friday, November 11.

This comes exactly three months after a pole right next to the current cut pole at Adelakope on the Tema, Akosombo highway in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality was similarly cut to the ground by unknown persons.

The Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG, switched feeders supplying power to Yilo and Manya Krobo municipalities on July 27, 2022, over attacks on its staff and tempering of its transformers by some unscrupulous residents resisting prepaid meter installations.

Meanwhile, after several consultations with authorities power was finally restored for the people.

Although calm between the ECG and the residents has recently prevailed in the area what necessitated the actions of the unfazed perpetrators is yet to be established.
