Afrobeat star, Wizkid, has apologised to his fans in Ghana for failing to turn up for his live concert scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Ojuelegba hitmaker blamed his inability to show up on some safety and production challenges.

The singer’s failure angered a lot of fans who paid huge sums and turned up at the Accra Sports Stadium in their numbers and waited for him from about 8:00 pm till Sunday dawn.

But taking to his twitter account, Wizkid pleaded that “please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honouring my fans, and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do and I had to.”

While noting that he was charged up and ready to delight fans as promised he explained that “unfortunately, up until the day of this show, there continued to be safety and production issues that prevented me from putting on a high quality show that my fans deserve.”

He went on to say “Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart, first and foremost I wanna apologise to all my fans! Y’all know I would never do anything, without a serious reasoning behind it.

“My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologise to everyone who made the effort to come out to me last night. I was charged up, looking forward to doing this show. However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honoring my fans and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right to do and I had to,” he tweeted.
