Angelonline.com.gh has gathered that two gold buyers and an occupant of a commercial vehicle, have been shot dead by a gang of suspected robbers at Wassa Ntwetwena near Wassa Akropong in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.

Another person who was also on the commercial bus, sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a stray bullet said to have been fired by the suspected murderers.

The gold dealer only identified as Red and believed to be in his 40s, was attacked at his office together with his worker Attah, popularly known as ‘Eighty-eight’ in the municipality.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, between the hours of 16:00 GMT and 18:00 GMT.

According to our sources, the suspected gang of robbers numbering six with their faces covered, arrived at the deceased’s office few minutes after Red had returned from Tarkwa with unspecified huge sum of money he had gone to trade of gold.

The suspect, after committing the crime fled the scene and started started firing warning shots to scare residents from attacking them but unfortunately their stray bullets hit two passengers who were on board a commercial vehicle within the area.

Unfortunately, the stray bullets killed one of the injured persons on the spot while the other sustained severe gun wounds and has been receiving treatment at the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital.
