The police have launched a manhunt for a gang of robbers who reportedly attacked a gold buying shop and shot dead two gold buyers and an occupant of a commercial vehicle.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, between the hours of 16:00 GMT and 18:00 GMT at Ntwetwena near Wassa Nkonya at Wassa Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.
The robbers, according to sources who are on manhunt were six in numbers.
The police say it has since deployed a special team comprising investigation, intelligence and operational officers to beef up security in the town and surrounding communities.
“We would like to assure the public that we will surely get the robbers arrested to face justice.”
