The Police have mounted a search for two persons who allegedly stole money from a forex bureau at the Accra Mall.

The two, according to the Ghana Police Service stole USD1600 on Monday, February 27, 2023, when they entered the forex bureau under the pretext of changing some money.

They noted that this was after the suspects “managed to steal some dollars from the counter of the bureau on the blind side of the attendant.”

The attendant upon realizing that the money had been stolen, went after them but the two sat in a waiting vehicle and drove off.

According to the Police, this could be a new approach being employed by criminals to steal from unsuspecting victims. They, therefore, urged the general public, particularly forex bureau operators to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police for the necessary action to be taken.

However, the police say investigation is underway to get the suspected thieves arrested to face justice.

We would like to urge the general public, especially operators of forex bureaux to be vigilant and where necessary report any suspicious activities to the police, as this could be a new approach adopted by criminals to steal from unsuspecting persons.
