Black Stars: German-born player replaces injured Tariq Lamptey

Handlers of the Black Stars have replaced Brighton and Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey after he sustained injury and was ruled out of the stars upcoming AFCON game against Angola.

He is replaced by a 29-year-old Kingsley Schindler, who plays his club football for German Bundesliga side, FC Köln.

The German born player who gets his first international call-up for Ghana arrived in Accra on Monday, March 20, 2023, to join the rest of the squad for the two crucial matches slated for Kumasi and Luanda.

His inclusion and arrival to the team’s camp adds up to 17 the number of players currently in camp ahead of the first leg game scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The other players currently in camp are Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Joseph Wollacott, Alexander Djiku, Denis Odoi, Patrick Kpozo, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo, Andre Ayew.

The rest are: Joseph Painstil, Ransford Yeboah, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, Majeed Ashimeru and Edmund Addo.

They will head to Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon, March 21, whiles the remaining players are expected to join them later.

Black Stars host the Palancas Negras of Angola, on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before the reverse fixture in Luanda on Monday, March 27.
