John Mahama commiserates with Azumah Nelson, Kojo Antwi

Former President John Dramani Mahama has commiserated with two Ghanaian greats who lost their mothers in January 2023.

Azumah Nelson, ex- Ghanaian great boxer and celebrated highlife musician Kojo Antwi both lost their mothers on Monday, January 2, 2023.

The musician lost his dad, Opanin Kwadwo Asiamah Asubonten, aged 104 whiles the former boxer’s mother also passed away at the age of 86.

Kojo Antwi, observe the 40-day ceremony of his deceased father on Saturday, February 11, ahead of the main funeral whiles Azumah Nelson laid his mother to rest on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The two however visited Mr Mahama at his residence over the weekend.

The former president in a Facebook post after receiving the two whom he described as friends extended his sincere condolences to them of their lost.

“My sincerest condolences to my friends, ‘Professor’ Azumah Nelson for the loss of his mother and Musician Kojo Antwi who has lost his father.

It was an honour to receive them and their families at our residence. Lordina and I once again express our condolences to them,” the flagbearer aspirant of the main opposition NDC added in the post Sunday, April 2.
