Four vehicles have reportedly been involved in an accident on the Apam-Mankessim highway at Ekumfi Edukuma in the Central Region late Monday evening.

The vehicles which include; a Toyota Highlander, Acura Honda, Ford E35 and a Mecedes Benz Sprinter ran into each other on the highway at about 11:00pm on Monday, May 8, 2023.

Angel News understands that the Toyota Highlander and the Ford E35 had a head-on collision while traveling from different directions as a result of poor visibility occasioned by a smokey atmosphere due to a bushfire right on the shoulders of the highway.

The Toyota Highlander with registration NUMBER GS 9645-19 reports say was traveling towards Apam while the Ford E35 with registration number GE 3383-12, was heading the opposite direction when the highlander run into the Ford vehicle.

Unfortunately, two other vehicles which were behind the highlander run into each other causing the highlander to veer off the road into the burning bushfire thus, also catching fire.

However, a swift response from the Mfantsiman Municipal Command of the Ghana National Fire Service at Mankessim salvagede the situation.

The fire personnel upon arrival assessed the situation and quickly extinguished the vehicular fire that engulfed the Toyota Highlander.

The personnel cleared the debris from the road and removed all obstacles from the road and allowed traffic to flow. There were no casualties recorded but all the four-vehicle suffered various degrees of damage.
