The office of the Electoral Commission has suspended its decision to supervise the presidential and parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) slated for Saturday, May 13, 2023.

The electoral body, according to a statement from its office said the Commission has been served with an interlocutory injunction application filed by Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, one of the aspiring presidential candidates.

Dr. Duffuor had earlier petitioned the electoral body to intervene in the situation citing anomalies in the party’s register.

The Chairperson of the EC, Mrs. Jean Mensa, at a meeting today, Wednesday, May 10, 2023, said, “In order that we are not cited for contempt, the Commission has taken the decision not to supervise the conduct of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections until after the determination of the case by the court.”
