Two people have successfully picked nomination forms to contest the primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the by-election in Assin North Constituency.

The two aspiring candidates are Charles Opoku and Frederick Freeman Amoah-Kyei.

The party’s internal election follows the declaration by Parliament that the Assin North Parliamentary seat had become vacant after the Supreme Court ordered the legislature to expunge the name of James Gyakye Quayson from its records.

Kelvin Kyeremateng, the Special Assistant of the aspiring candidate who picked the form on Mr. Charles Opoku says his boss’ citadel of achievements places him above his peers.

He believes he is capable of wrestling the seat for the NPP.

Meanwhile, Mr. Frank Acheampong who picked the forms on behalf of Frederick Freeman Amoah-Kyei contended that, the delegates must reward someone who can easily win the seat and has long served the party.
