The Electoral Commission has set June 27, 2023, as the date for the by-election in the Assin North Constituency of the Central Region.
Parliament had declared the Assin North Parliamentary seat vacant after the Supreme Court ordered the legislature to expunge the name of James Gyakye Quayson from its records.
A statement issued by the Chair of the Commission, ajean Meansa, indicated that nomination forms from persons who intend to contest for the election, would be be received by the Commission between June 12 and 14, 2023.
It requested interested candidates to download the forms from its website from Thursday, June 1.
