‘Don’t try to cheat Ken Agyapong in flagbearer race’ – C/R NADMO Boss warns

Must Read

Former Central Regional director of the National Disaster ManagementOrganisation (NADMO), Joe Donkor, has cautioned the leadership and delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to be very circumspect in their selection of 2024 flagbearer of the party.

Speaking on the Kokoase segment of Angel Morning Show, Joe Donkor said the masses are expecting the party hierarchy to elect someone who represents them well enough to lead the party.

He argued that Ken Agyapong has over the years been the voice of the masses and attempts to cheat him in the flagbearer elections is akin to depriving the masses of a leader who would represent their interest.

“Cheating Ken Agyapong in the flagbearership race is akin to cheating the poor…the masses will never forgive us if we fail to elect Kennedy Agyapong as the flagbearer…he represents everything the masses want from a leader…he is the right man to lead the NPP…”, he said.

He further extoled the attributes of the business mogul who he said can transform thr fortunes of the country if made the leader arguing that he has always been available to defend the party.

“How many of the people contesting the polls were available to defend the party? None. All of them went into hibernation and emerged only when they felt they want to lead the party…,” he said.

The former Gomoa West Constituency Chairman further explained that the NPP has abandoned some of its hardworking supporters who are not aligned to any of the major power brokers at the top hierarchy of the party.

He further counselled delegates within the party to always keep in mind that they are ‘pampered’ because the power brokers have recognised that they are the king makers now.

“Ask yourselves if these people remembered that you existed at all for the past six years, they never did but are now coming to you for your votes but why don’t you go and vote for someone who knew you and always for your interests during these times?” he charged.
