The Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Nukpenu, has regarded the Electoral Commission’s plan to limit its registration exercise at the district offices as confusing.
According to Anthony Nukpenu, the decision from the Electoral Commission would prevent majority of eligible citizens from registering due to lack of funds for transport.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, Anthony Nukpenu said, the EC’s decision will only create chaos for the citizenry.
“Limiting registration to only District Office is a recipe for chaos and confusion,” he told the host Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah.
Anthony Nukpenu added, “most Ghanaians are already frustrated. So if they are to take car 10 miles, 20 miles, and pay transportation fee before getting registered, then, most of them will not go and register.”
He asked the EC to reconsider its decision by taking the exercise to the doorstep of the general public to enable them to patronize it.
