A Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo has prophesied doom for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2024 elections.

According to the political analyst, there is danger lurking at the doors of the ruling government if it does not take steps to address the grievances of other contestants.

“Alan Kyeremanten has a lot of followers within the NPP so definitely his departure will have an impact on the electoral fortunes of the party,” he said on Angel Morning Show on Tuesday, 25th September, 2024.

He added that breaking the 8 will not be an easy task for the NPP hence having a renowned person with some following resigning from the party will cause some lapses in their preparations toward the 2024 election.

“Even with current leaders, the party is still struggling to break the 8 in the upcoming election, how much more losing a great person like Alan to independent,” he said.

Professor Gyampo stated that, the only way forward for the NPP will be to put in place drastic measures to curb any disparities within the party.

“I think they have to put measures in place immediately to minimize the risk of having more divisions within the party,” the senior lecturer said.
