2023 AFCON trophy to arrive in Ghana in November for tour

The 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations trophy is expected to arrive in Ghana in November 2023 as part of the means of creating awareness for the 34th edition of the tournament to be held in Cote D’Ivoire.

Ghana’s capital, Accra will host the trophy for three days beginning November 26 to November 29, 2023, Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed.

According to CAF, the trophy tour across the continent is organized by the title sponsor “TotalEnergies”, as part of the pre-tournament activities.

The trophy will be accompanied by CAF ambassadors at it makes its way through CAF members states ahead of the tournament in Camerron early next year.

Before the trophy make a stop in Ghana on Saturday, November 26th, the trophy tour would commence in Senegal on September 24 -27, before moving to Equatorial Guinea, DR. Congo, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Guinea, South Africa, Nigeria, Angola and Zambia.

Other countries including Morocco, Tanzania, Cameroon and Mozambique will all have a feel of the trophy before finally landing in Abidjan in December for the tournament in January 2024.
