The former First Lady gave his last breath in the presence of President Nana Akufo-Addo, Spokesperson for the former First Family, Dr Kwabena Osei Adubofour has revealed.
According to him, the President was in the residence of the former First Couple at Peduase in the Eastern Region as part of his regular visit late afternoon on Sunday, October 1, 2023, when the sad incident happened.
Dr. Aduboforfour disclosed this Monday morning, October 2, 2023, while speaking with Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, host of the Angel Morning Show.
Mrs. Theresa Kufuor died just three weeks to her 89th birthday.
The retired nurse and midwife was wife ofJohn Agyekum Kufuor, the second President of Fourth Republic of Ghana.
She died at the age of 88.
Family members are yet to convene to plan for her funeral while her mortal remains have been taken to the morgue for preservation, the Spokesperson added.
