Ghana’s economy gradually bouncing back – NPP Communicator

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication team, Ibrahim Awal Mohammed has called on Ghanaians to remain hopeful because the country’s economy is gradually getting better.

“Amidst all the challenges the country has been through, the policies of the party have gradually aided in turning the corner of the economy positively,” he said on Angel Morning Show on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

He argued that he was happy the country’s economy was bouncing back to life after the the COVID-19 crisis which made government spend significant resources on the economy.

“The President invested in the well-being of citizens during the Covid-19 pandemic, which basically affected the country’s economy, yet the ascribed policies is helping in controlling the state of the economy,” he indicated.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), he said further, have been shocked at the sudden growth rate after the disbursement of the first tranche of the IMF cash.

“IMF officials were shocked at the level of economic growth and compliance within this period. The growth rate is around 3.2 to 3.5, thus, considering the first and second quarter of the country depicts that we gradually turning the corner,” he said.

The recent drop in inflation from 54.5% to 38.1%, he added portrays gradual improvement in the economy.
