Accra Hearts of Oak’s journey in the 2023/2024 MTN FA Cup campaign was cut short on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, after they were kicked out of the competition by Division One League side, Nania FC.

The round 64 tie saw the Accra-based side owned by Ghanaian legend Abedi Pele knock out the Phabians after winning 4-3 on penalty shootout.

The game which was entertaining ended goalless at the Kpobiman Sports Complex in Accra and thus required the penalties to determine the winner.

Hearts of Oak converted three of its spot kicks with the 2011 FC Cup scoring 4.

This means, the Ghana Premier League giants who are the record holders of the competition will have to wait for another year to win their 13th title having annex the 2022 edition.
