Central Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Gabriella Tetteh says Ghanaians were not treated with respect and fairness during the just ended All African Games.

According to her, athletes from other countries who participated in the event were offer better treatment than the local athletes; an occurrence she described as ‘disappointing’.

“How we treated Ghanaian athletes differs from how the foreign athletes were treated. They were treated poorly compared to foreign athletes. You are expecting them to produce medals under such conditions. We treat our people as if they are second class citizens,” she said on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, 27th March, 2024.

She further expressed disappointment in the Ministry of Youth and Sport for failing to pay off volunteers who rendered various services to participants and can equally be credited for the success of the games.

“The young men and women who dedicated their time and worked hard to make the program successful in order to enable Ghana host the program successfully after one month are being treated unfairly. After dedicating themselves all this time, showing such patriotism, are bring paid only 200 cedis. How? For working for one month?.” she fumed.
