The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Mamprusi Municipality in the North East region, Arimeyaw Somo Lucky Basintale has saluted the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for heeding to and ordering for the provision of 5,280 Dual Desk furniture for 66 schools in the Municipality.
The 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) provided the financial support for the dual desks following a request made to him by the Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the West Mamprusi Municipal Education Oversight Committee (MEOC) to support some of the schools in the municipality.
The Vice President in his response directed the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly as a matter of Urgency to construct 5280 dual Desk to support about 10,000 pupils in various schools at various communities in the municipality.
This is the second time the Vice President has supported education with furniture for the last three years, as he gave 1,000 dual Desk in the year 2022 to the District Assembly for distribution.
The 66 schools to benefit from the 5,280 dual Desks include the following:

The Vice President also directed that local Artisans from the municipality should be engaged to do the work in order to boost local economic development.
He has further directed the Ministry of Education to come to the aid of the remaining schools with furniture challenges in the district.
