Radio Personality and Reggae Artiste, Abubakar Ahmed popularly known as Blakk Rasta, has revealed his journey in the media and how he established the first reggae show in Ghana.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show, May 2, 2024, Blakk Rasta revealed that he begun his media journey in a local based radio station on Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus, where he developed this skill to maximum effect.

Blakk Rasta disclosed that his humble beginning in Kumasi “led to a higher upliftment where we went to Tamale and continued from Radio Savannah and further moved to Radio Progress in Wa.”

He made known that due to hardwork and dedication towards the media work, he became the first person to establish a reggae radio show as people believed reggae music was for those who smoke and therefore, did not pay much attention to it.

“And I am glad to say that I am the first to establish reggae radio show everywhere I went in spite of the perceptions people had about reggae music,” he said.

Blakk Rasta is currently promoting his latest music project which he said, is already making waves on the international scenes.

The album titled ‘Salaga Solja’ has 20 songs including Barber shop, Sodom and Gomorrah and My dear Ghana.
