The Central Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the suspension of Nurien Shaibu Migyimah, the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Assin Central Constituency.

A letter from the regional Functional Executive Committee (R-FEC) which stated that the decision was reached after thorough deliberations and consultations with key stakeholders at both the regional and national levels.

Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams, the Regional Secretary of the NDC, outlined the directives in the official communication addressed to the Chairman of the Assin Central Constituency.  The letter also emphasized the urgency and necessity of adhering to the decision, instructing all relevant party branches and constituencies to enforce the suspension immediately.

“Following the interrogation and deliberations on the reports of immoral acts and anti-party conduct received by R-FEC against the Assin Central Parliamentary Candidate, Nurien Shaibu Migyimah, the Regional Functional Executive Committee resolved that Migyimah be withdrawn as the 2024 Assin Central Parliamentary Candidate of the NDC with immediate effect,” the letter stated.

Migyimah’s suspension spans six months, during which the Regional Disciplinary Committee will make a final determination regarding his case.
