The Ghana Police Service has arrested one Nana Poku Piesie, also known as Kwabena, who was seen in a viral video admitting to have sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.
In an interview on Kumasi-based Sompa FM, the suspect was on record to have said he had a sexual relationship with the minor from primary school until she completed school.
“A few years ago, I had sex with a 14-year-old girl. Her father is a wealthy man in Dormaa Ahenkro. After my daughter also got to that age, I observed that one teacher had also started making sexual advances at her. I told my wife about it and she reminded me about my sinful act with the other girl,” he added as quoted.
The police upon seeing the viral video of the interview proceeded to apprehend Nana Poku Piesie.
According to a police statement, the suspect is currently in their custody and assisting them with investigations.
“We wish to assure the public that the suspect will be taken through the due process of the law,” the police statement reads further.
