Education Ministry announce limited recruitment for SHS teachers

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced that the sector will in the coming weeks embark on a recruitment exercise of teachers into Senior High Schools (SHSs).

Dr. Osei Adutwum in his announcement on Tuesday, July July 30, 2024, explained that details of the recruitment process will be made public to potential applicants.

“I’m pleased to announce that a limited recruitment drive for high school teachers will commence next week. Stay tuned for more details on how to apply and the specific areas of focus for this recruitment,” the minister announced in a Facebook post.

The development comes after the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced the recruitment of 15, 200 nurses and midwives, effective Monday, August 5, 2024.

In a statement released on Friday, July 26, 2024, the MoH confirmed that the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has granted the necessary financial clearance for the recruitment process.

Qualified applicants are requested to formally apply on the MoH’s online application portal, where they can select their preferred agency under the Ministry. The application period will close on Friday, August 23, 2024.

The Ministry noted further that the recruitment process is free, and warned applicants against paying any fees to individuals or entities claiming to facilitate the process.
