Free SHS most impactful social intervention — Builsa overlord
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Paramount Chief of the Builsa Traditional Area, Nab Azagsuk Azantilow II, has singled out  the government’s flagship Free Senior High School (FSHS) programme as the “most far-reaching social intervention of our time.”

Speaking at Sandema in the Builsa North Constituency last Friday, Nab Azantilow had high praise for the “numerous achievements” of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo/Dr Mahamudu Bawumia government, but maintained that the policy which had led to an increase of over 600,000 in secondary school enrollment in just seven years surpassed the rest, given the wide-ranging impact it would have on Ghana’s development.

He was speaking when the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Bawumia paid a courtesy call on him at the palace, as part of his constituency-focused nationwide campaign tour, during which he shares his vision for Ghana with all stakeholders including traditional and religious authorities, the youth and constituency at large.

Achievements

Nab Azantilow said he was mindful of the numerous achievements by the government, notably in the areas of health, digital technology, infrastructure among other sectors.

“Notwithstanding its few challenges, the Free SHS programme remains uncontestably the most far-reaching social intervention of our time, which has also benefitted my traditional area” he maintained.

He described Dr Bawumia’s historic victory in the NPP Presidential primary as an affirmation of his “sterling qualities as a politician, leader and human being.”

Blessings

Nab Azantilow invoked divine blessings on the NPP flagbearer, saying “As you take your campaign across the country, I want to wish you well. I also pray for Allah’s blessings on you personally, your family and members of your campaign team.

“I look forward to meeting you in 2025 as President of the Republic, Insha Allah.”

He said Dr Bawumia’s victory, despite the many challenges, including competing against others was indicative of his manifest destiny, and looked forward to engaging him at the level of President of the Republic after December 2024.

Nab Azantilow described Dr Bawumia’s historic election victory as an affirmation of his character and traits as a human being and a leader.

Initiatives

At a stakeholders engagement at Yagaba Kubori, Dr Bawumia underscored the significant impact of the government’s initiatives on the citizens despite facing many challenges over the past seven years.

He stated that the government had implemented key projects and reforms that had brought lasting benefits to Ghanaians, and generations yet unborn.

“Despite a myriad of challenges, this government has introduced and continues to implement many initiatives that have far-reaching impact, even for generations unborn,” Dr Bawumia stated.

“From the issuance of a National ID Card, through Mobile Money Interoperability, which has enabled access to financial and government services, to Free SHS and TVET preparing Ghana’s youth for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, I have ably played an active role in fundamentally reforming the Ghanaian society,” the NPP Flagbearer stated.
