Founder of the Union Government movement, Akwasi Addai Odike, has blamed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the collapse of Ghana Airways.

Speaking Monday, September 2, 2024, on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), Odike criticized the conduct of both major political parties, arguing that their actions disqualify them from deserving the presidency.

“The NPP and NDC are responsible for the downfall of Ghana Airways,” he stated.

He went on to mention that during the era of Ghana Airways, there was no Emirates Airline the national carrier was doing so well across the continent, extending its frontiers to Europe and the Middle East.

Its collapse, however, led to the emergence other carriers that have taken over the business and Ghana has since not had a carrier in the airline industry, the businessman cum politician observed.

Odike also lamented the state of local manufacturing, saying, “we used to manufacture many things here in Ghana, but the NDC and NPP did not manage them well, and now they are all destroyed.”

Furthermore, he criticized both parties for neglecting local banks, adding, “The NDC is promising to provide us with loans to buy cocoa, but we don’t need loans to buy cocoa.”
