As part of the Evangelism Day of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) and Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) Annual Thanksgiving Service (2024), staff members of JGC and ZGL undertook a peace evangelism exercise to spread the Gospel and win souls for Christ on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

The evangelism march saw staff members of JGC and ZGL take to the streets, sharing the transformative message of Jesus Christ’s unfailing love with pedestrians, residents, and motorists.

The walk commenced at the group’s premises and proceeded through to the School Junction end of the main Ashley Botwe-Nmai-Dzorn road in Accra.

Throughout the procession, participants enthusiastically engaged with the public about the saving grace of Christ.

The evangelism walk also aimed to disseminate messages of peace, unity, and harmony in anticipation of the December 7 elections.

Speaking to the media on behalf of the Executive Chairman of JGC, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Environment and Sanitation Cluster, JGC, Mrs. Florence Larbi, highlighted the significance of this year’s (2024) JGC’s Annual Thanksgiving Service, particularly as it coincided with a general election.

“This occasion is a time of gratitude to God for His faithfulness and the peace we have enjoyed as a nation. As part of our thanksgiving activities, we are also advocating peace ahead of the upcoming elections. Jospong Group is committed to spreading this message of unity and harmony across Ghana,” she noted.

While thanking God for His favour upon JGC, she appealed to Ghanaians to join the group in preserving the peace in the country, especially during this election period.

“Together, let us ensure a stable and united Ghana for generations to come,” she urged.

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of JGC, Mrs. Sophia Kudjordji, noted: “This evangelism and peace walk has been an integral part of our annual thanksgiving celebrations for the past three to four years.”

She indicated that the programme serves as an expression of gratitude to God for His abundant grace and protection.

“Today [Thursday, November 28, 2024,] we have gathered to express our heartfelt gratitude to God for His abundant grace and protection throughout the years,” she said.

The peace walk aimed to spread the Word of God and advocate peace. Mrs. Kudjordji stressed, “It is vital for all Ghanaians to remember that we have only one Ghana.”

With the upcoming elections in mind, she encouraged Ghanaians to prioritise peace and stability, saying, “With the upcoming elections, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that peace and stability prevail before, during, and after the process.”

She emphasised the importance of maintaining Ghana’s peaceful reputation, stating, “Let us continue to cherish the peaceful reputation Ghana has upheld over the years, and together, let’s make every effort to maintain it.”

Earlier, Bishop Tackie-Yarboi of the Victory Bible Church delivered a powerful sermon, reminding congregants to focus on their unique, God-ordained journeys.

He said every individual has a distinct path crafted by God, and that comparisons with others can lead to dissatisfaction and unnecessary pressure.

“Making unnecessary comparisons with others often leads to dissatisfaction and unwarranted pressure. Instead of measuring your progress against someone else’s, concentrate on your own walk with Christ, trusting that He is all you need,” he cautioned.

The Bishop encouraged the congregation to celebrate their individuality, trust in God’s plan, and seek to glorify Him in all aspects of life.

“True peace and fulfillment come from living a Christ-like life, not from pursuing fleeting trends or ideals often amplified on social media,” he noted.

Bishop Tackie-Yarboi’s sermon was a call to live intentionally, embracing individuality and trusting in God’s plan. By doing so, congregants can experience personal peace and inspire others to find their strength and identity in Christ.

The District Commander, Lakeside District, Accra District Superintendent Police (DSP) Shaibu Alhassan Sabi, reassured the public of the police’s preparedness to ensure peace and order during the upcoming elections.

He stressed the importance of personal responsibility and community support in maintaining peace.

“The first line of security is personal responsibility, followed by the support of immediate family. If these layers fail, promptly contact the police or other security services for assistance,” DSP Sabi advised.

He charged citizens to prioritise unity and love over political differences, reminding them that violence would have far-reaching consequences for everyone.

“Let us preach peace, for there is no place as sweet as home,” he averred.

The Police Commander called for collective responsibility in safeguarding the nation’s peace.

“We must all play an active role in maintaining peace, as violence would have devastating consequences for everyone,” he stated.

DSP Sabi reiterated the Inspector General of Police’s commitment to maintaining safety, pledging that the security services will do whatever it takes to protect the nation and ensure peaceful elections.

“We are fully prepared to ensure peace and order before, during, and after the 2024 elections,” he assured.
