Nana Yaw Sarpong, a special aide to independent presidential candidate Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has confidently predicted that Alan will defy odds and rewrite Ghana’s political and electoral history in the upcoming general elections. In an interview on Angel TV Morning Show hosted by Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, Nana Yaw likened Alan’s potential victory to Donald Trump’s unexpected win in the U.S. presidential elections, despite contrary projections.

“Just as numerous polls projected that Trump would lose the most recent U.S. elections, but Trump won, so have multiple studies predicted that Alan will lose Ghana’s 2024 elections. However, political and electoral history will be changed” he said.

Highlighting Alan’s track record, Nana Yaw noted his outstanding credentials in business and trade. He commended Alan’s implementation of the Presidential Special Initiative during former President John Kufuor’s administration, which bolstered the oil and textile industries. The initiative’s “Friday Wear” concept created jobs for tailors and allowed institutions like banks and schools to personalize textiles.

In addition, Nana Yaw emphasized Alan’s significant contributions during his tenure in President Akufo-Addo’s government. Under the Rural Enterprise Scheme, Alan spearheaded the creation of 67 business resort centers across Ghana through donor agencies. He also led the implementation of the Automobile Development Policy, which brought five global automobile manufacturers to Ghana and laid the groundwork for component manufacturing to create jobs.

Furthermore, Alan played a key role in establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) headquarters in Ghana, enhancing the country’s standing as a hub for African trade. Nana Yaw highlighted Alan’s efforts to reduce imports through initiatives like the One District One Factory policy, which aimed to promote domestic production, stabilize the cedi, and drive industrial growth.

Concluding, Nana Yaw Sarpong expressed unwavering confidence in Alan’s ability to usher in a new political era, emphasizing his leadership, vision, and track record of impactful policies. “Alan has proven time and again that he can deliver transformative results. Ghanaians should brace themselves for a historic outcome in 2024,” he said.

With the elections drawing closer, Alan Kyerematen’s camp remains optimistic that his legacy and innovative policies will resonate with voters and reshape Ghana’s political landscape.
