A Senior Member of the Movement for Change, Nana Yaw Sarpong, is optimistic that Alan Kyerematen will win the coming December 2024 general election to become Ghana’s next president.

Nana Yaw Sarpong stated that the track records of Alan Kyerematen during his time as Trade Minister in the country have made Ghanaians develop an interest to vote for him as the next president of Ghana.

According to him, Mr. Kyerematen’s aim to create jobs for the youth when elected president remains unchanged.

During a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show on November 28, 2024, Mr. Sarpong insisted that Mr. Kyerematen has performed as trade minister under both former president John Agyekum Kufuor and President Nana Addo’s administration.

“Alan was the one who brought the Automobile Policy to Ghana, which attracted five giant automobile industries across the world to Ghana, where these industries could be established in a country such as Nigeria, Togo, and other countries around Ghana.

But yet they came to Ghana because Alan was able to put together the policy called the automobile development policy in Ghana,” He stated.

Mr. Sarpong referenced the success of Presidential Special Initiatives (PSI) on garments and textiles, which was introduced under former President J.A. Kufuor’s administration and however, generated export revenue and created direct and indirect jobs across the industry`s value chains.
