The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Tema West Constituency, Kwasi Poku, has confessed that the rank and file of the party knew the party will lose the polls.

According to him, the leadership of the party arrived at this conclusion after realising that had not been able to mitigate the economic hardship on Ghanaians. The arrogance which was exhibited by persons in authority, he added, were enough red flags for the party.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Thursday, December 12, 2024, Kwasi Poku said the utterances from NPP leaders were inappropriate, and he did not expect them to use such words during their campaign.

Kwasi Poku pointed out that during the NPP campaign, some members of the party knew the crowds at their events were not enthusiastic, and therefore the party leaders knew they were going to lose the 2024 polls.

“Many things went wrong that we were aware of. The humiliation was too much, and I knew things were not well, but it was worse than we thought. That is where I have a problem; however, Ghanaians have spoken, and I respect their decisions,” he said.

He further urged Ghanaians to avoid destroying national property and to be cautious of the chaos occurring in some parts of the country.

According to him, the youth should position themselves and should not take actions to their advantage.
