Devote full commitment to your core mandates and stop chasing awards – Mahama tells appointees

Former Central Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Joe Donkor, has claimed that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia was not coerced in any way to concede defeat after the 2024 elections.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show on Monday, December 11, 2024, Joe Donkor stated that the early concession of the elections shows how a humble person like Dr Bawumia wasn’t interested in dragging issues.

“Dr. Bawumia has done very well by conceding defeat in the general election; he alleviated the tension among the people of Ghana and brought peace to the country. Next time, we go into a poll, if someone loses, he or she should also accept it in good faith to avoid any tension. Some Members of Parliament (MPs) are fighting for their seats out of desperation, and I don’t see why they should be doing that; that constituency is not your property,” he opined.

He urged Ghanaians to avoid troubling themselves, as such behaviour will not help the progress of Ghana.

He pointed out that the leaders understand each other, and he does not see the reason why some members of the two parties are exhibiting this attitude.

“We are done with the election, those who lost should go back and make the necessary corrections. The NPP is dear to my heart, but we lost this election because of our own foolishness,” he stated.
