The Sahene of the Adele Traditional Area in Nkwanta South of the Oti Region, Nana Boafo Amoah III, has urged the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, not to forget the people of the Oti Region when sworn into office as the President of Ghana, especially regarding development.

According to the chief, the Oti Region is far behind the rest of the country due to poor roads, particularly the routes from Nkwanta to Dambai and Nkwanta to Damanko.

He emphasized that these conditions highlight the region’s infrastructure challenges and appealed to the president-elect to prioritize their needs once he assumes office.

“The new president-elect, God bless you, and congratulations to you and your wife. What I am pleading for in the Oti Region is infrastructure, particularly our roads. As you are sworn in as president, I urge you to focus on us,” he stated.

Speaking to an Angel TV reporter, the chief mentioned that John Mahama should not focus solely on men when appointing his ministers.

He emphasized the importance of including women, asserting that they are integral to nation-building.

The chief further urged Ghanaians that they are one people and they should come together to build the country.

“It does not matter which party we belong to; we should unite as one and support the president-elect for good governance as he takes office. This unity can help move Ghana forward,” he said.

Nana Boafo III stated, “God has shown His power by giving us the one to lead the country. I believe that since there is peace before, during, and after the 2024 general election.

We should all come together as one people to support the president-elect in his administration and put aside political affiliations. This can bring development and advance Ghana.”
