Member of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ellen Ama Daaku, has taken a swipe at Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, over his “true personality and what he portrays before the public.”

According to Madam Daaku, it is amusing and ironic for the minister to portray a contradictory lifestyle, given his public status.

Samuel Nartey George has faced public criticism after revealing that his” wife takes care” of him.

“My wife takes care of me,” he told the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 30, 2025, during his vetting.

His statement came in response to a question from Ranking Member and Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who probed his source of income aside from his parliamentary salary.

Commenting on the matter, Ellen Ama Daaku laughed at Mr. George and expressed disbelief at how a politician known for his assertiveness on national issues could be dependent on his wife at home.

“Sam George sits on social media to insult and make bold statements about elderly people who could father him, take care of him, and his entire family.

He even went as far as insulting the then-President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, and describing Dr. Bawumia as useless. Yet, he appears before a vetting committee and admits that his wife takes care of him.”

She mocked, saying, “But despite all your arrogance, you are in your wife’s pocket.”

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show, the outspoken NPP communicator clarified that she was not against women supporting their husbands.

“Nobody says it is a crime. But in one of his own social media posts, he stated that ‘a strong man is one who takes care of his wife, a man is a man when he provides for his family.’

Two years ago, Sam George told The Delay Show that his wife was a housewife. So has the housewife suddenly become the one taking care of you now?” she asked host Saddick Adams.

According to Ama Daaku, Sam George’s statement exposed his double standards, which, she said, warranted her backlash against him.
