The Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has issued a strong warning that National Service personnel who have not registered with the Ghana Card will be removed from the payroll.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show on Friday, February 14, 2025, Mr. Gyamfi stated that personnel who registered for National Service without a Ghana Card must verify their registration status within a week or risk being taken off the system.
“I will not wait till a year. This morning, on my way here, I authorized that anyone on the National Service Scheme (NSS) payroll without a Ghana Card should be removed. I’m giving you one week; after that, if you haven’t verified your registration status, your name will be taken out” he said.
He revealed that over 5,000 personnel have yet to register with the Ghana Card, and their names will soon be deleted from the system if they fail to comply.
Additionally, Mr. Gyamfi raised concerns about individuals from institutions that lack accreditation from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). He stated that about 1,000 such personnel will also be removed from the payroll.
“Those whose schools are not accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) will be taken off the system as well, and they are about a thousand in number” he stated.
He emphasized that the NSA has the capacity to enforce these measures and attributed the current situation to lapses in leadership over the years.
This directive serves as a wake-up call to all National Service personnel to ensure compliance with national identification and accreditation requirements to avoid disruptions in their allowances.
