Popular Ghanaian actress, Maame Serwaa, has addressed the public’s perceptions of the roles she played in movies to her real-life personality.
In a recent interview on Angel FM, Maame Serwaa expressed frustration over being judged based on the characters she portrays in films.
According to the Kumawood actress, many people, especially mothers, have developed a negative perception of her due to the roles she plays in movies.
“I receive such negative comments a lot, especially from mothers saying that I am witchcraft and a disrespectful child. I have to explain things to them to clear their mindset,” she said
Maame Serwaa emphasized that her movie characters do not reflect her true personality, adding that she cannot always choose a role of her choice since most producers prioritize storylines that will make money.
“Most of the time, it’s about the storyline. As an actress, I don’t have the liberty to ask the producer to change the script just to suit my preferences. The producer’s goal is to create a movie that will generate revenue, and those times such movies we trending,” he mentioned.
