Former chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Hajia Hamdatu, has called out the government’s school feeding program.
She says the current allocation of Gh¢2 per child is too low, pointing out that even a ball of kenkey costs more than that.
Madam Hamdatu said this on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, March ,11, 2025.
Hajia also questioned how caterers can provide decent meals with such a small amount of money, emphasizing that if GHC1.20 pesewas [previous allocation] was all that’s provided for cooking, caterers are essentially sacrificing for the country.
“I congratulate all caterers in this country because how much is a ball of kenkey”? Because 1.20peswes are being used to cook that means the caterers are sacrificing for this country,” she remarked.
