New Director-General of Prisons sworn into office

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn into office Patience Baffoe-Bonnie as the new Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service.

Madam Baffoe-Bonnie took oath of office at the swearing in ceremony held at Jubilee House in Accra on Monday, March 17, 2025.

President Mahama also used the opportunity to officially announced the appointment of DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow-Sapong as the Acting Chief Fire Officer and DCI Samuel Basintale Amadu as the Acting Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

Their appointments, according to a statement from the presidency is pending the constitution of their respective Councils.

In his speech, President Mahama assured the new Security Service Chiefs of the government’s commitment to providing the necessary resources to enable them to carry out their respective mandates effectively.

He also tasked them with providing visionary leadership, implementing needed reforms, and upholding professionalism in their respective services.

Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.) thanked the President on behalf of the new Security Service Chiefs, assuring him in delivering to the best of their abilities in making their respective services better.

In attendance were H.E. the Vice President, Chief of Staff, Ministers for the Interior and Defence and some Government Officials
