A Communications Team Member for the Movement for Change, Solomon has emphasised the need for periodic review and reform of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
Mr. Owusu, speaking on the Angel Morning Show with Kojo Oppong Kyeremeh, advocated reforms to address the challenges facing the policy.
“In anything you establish, you need to review and reform it as time goes on. I support those calling for Free SHS reforms, and I agree with Otumfuo,” he stated.
A key issue, Owusu noted, is the disparity in parental expectations and pointed out that parents who can afford to pay school fees should be allowed to pay.
He emphasised: “It can’t be that you pay more than GHS 10,000 as Montessori school fees as a parent, and you can’t pay GHS 3,000 or GHS 4,000 as SHS fees unless the parent has lost their job, which is understandable.”
He cautioned against offloading parental responsibilities into the various schools.
