A former Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim Hussein, believes that the unending sufferings of Ghanaians through hardship, is due to bad leadership.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, she asserted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are the causes of corruption in the country thereby, making the system difficult for Ghanaians.

According to her, Ghanaians believe in their leaders, however gave them the mandate to rule the country. She pointed out that they should work to the satisfaction of the people rather than making things hard in the country.

“When we talk about corruption, I think we are not doing well as Africans because of bad leadership and unconcern to corrupt activities. We ain’t prosecuting enough of corrupt officials that is why we’re suffering as continent.

If we don’t fight corruption today, we’ll continue seeking economic bailout through loans,” she added.

She further condemned the immediate past New Patriotic Party government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stating that he failed to hold corrupt officials accountable.

A situation, she noted, have paved the way for the incumbent government to pursue at least seven members of Akuffo-Addo appointees over alleged corruption related matters.
