We’ve not granted protocol for pastors, individuals at security checks – Interior Ministry

The Ministry for the Interior has rubbished media reportage suggesting that certain individuals, including pastors, have been granted special privileges to bypass security checks.

The sector stated categorically that these claims are “baseless, entirely false” and should be disregarded immediately.

“It is important to note that the Ministry of Interior has not issued any directives or protocols allowing specific groups or individuals to circumvent security checks,” It said in a statement from its Public Affairs and Communications Unit.

The Ministry, therefore, reaffirms its commitment to maintaining peace and security across the country, ensuring equal protection for all citizens without discrimination.

“The Ministry of Interior remains steadfast in its duty to safeguard the nation and upholding rigorous security protocols to protect all citizens. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

“The Ministry of Interior is committed to transparency and will continue to provide accurate updates on its operations and policies. The Ministry strongly believes that by working together, we can ensure a safer and more informed community.”

The statement further cautions the public against using the ministry’s name to perpetrate crime or spread false information, which undermines national security.
