The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has acknowledged the concerns expressed by Ghanaians after her illness over the weekend.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude to all for their well wishes following the government’s announcement.

The government announced that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was given urgent medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on Saturday, March 29, 2025, following an illness the previous day, Friday, March 28.

It added that, based on experts’ advice, the Vice President would seek further medical treatment abroad.

This prompted widespread concern, with many Ghanaians, including political figures and religious leaders, sending their well wishes to her.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, in her goodwill message to the Muslim community on their Eid Mubarak celebration, expressed gratitude for the kindness and support shown to her.

“…I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,” she said in a statement.
