The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the commencement of the issuance of printed Ghana Card backlogs and first-time registrations at all its District Offices within the Greater Accra Region.

The process officially began Monday, April 7, 2025.

In a press release issued by the Acting Head of Corporate Affairs Directorate, William Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas , on Sunday April 6, shows that the initiative targets Ghanaians who applied for the first issuance, replacement, or updates of their personal records from June 2023 in Greater Accra but have not yet received their cards.

According to the NIA, these individuals can now visit the respective District Offices where they originally registered to collect their cards.

In addition, the NIA is encouraging all eligible Ghanaians aged 15 years and above who have not yet registered for the Ghana Card to visit any NIA District Office in the Greater Accra Region to complete their registration starting today.

The Authority emphasized that the issuance of printed backlogs and new registrations is entirely free of charge.

Ghanaians are being urged to report any NIA staff who demand fees for these services.
