A concerned group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Branch Executives in Upper West Akim has called upon President John Dramani Mahama to nominate a qualified candidate for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE).
According to the Chairman of the group, Mr. Jonathan Abbey, the most competent candidate among the three shortlisted is Mr. William Agbelinyo, who he asserts is exceptionally suited for the DCE role.
He expressed that Mr. William Agbelinyo is a dedicated, selfless, and staunch member of the NDC who has tremendously supported the party from Assembly Member elections to General Elections.
“It is about our NDC’s issue; we’re very serious, and we want our grievances to reach the government because the DCE’s issues have become a significant source of concern that we do not fully understand.
“The reason we are so concerned about this matter is that the president must hear and know who to elect as the District Chief Executive for this electoral area,” he elaborated.
“This will assist the Member of Parliament in performing his duties effectively, allowing the president to govern the nation well.
“This is why we’ve convened this press conference to address our concerns, and we are very serious because some individuals are using propaganda to elevate the indigene in this constituency, claiming he is not from this constituency, which is all lies,” Mr. Abbey added.
The group spoke during a press conference aimed at countering false information circulating on social media that impugns Mr. William Agbelinyo’s loyalty to the NDC.
Additionally, several members of the group dismissed the allegations, asserting that they represent a calculated attempt to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of Mr. William Agbelinyo.
