Ghanaian rapper Maradona Yeboah Adjei, popularly known as Guru, expressed that one of his greatest achievements was leading students as the Student Representative Council (SRC) President of the University of Ghana (UG).
In a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Monday, March 14, 2025, the rapper shared insights into his inspiring journey of student leadership at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Guru expressed great enthusiasm about his experience, describing it as one of the most fulfilling chapters of his life.
He emphasized the honor of serving as the Student Representative Council (SRC) President, a role that allowed him to represent and lead his fellow students.
The artist reflected on the initial challenges he faced when venturing into the academic and leadership space but emphasized that his determination and passion helped him overcome those obstacles.
“Venturing into the academic space was quite a challenge, but leading the student populace is a great feeling,” Guru said.
“I’m hoping to embark on projects that will make an impact in the music industry and beyond.”
Guru emphasized the importance of thinking beyond performances.
“I don’t want to limit myself to just being a performer, as a student, I’m conceptualizing ways to impact the music space and life in general,” he stated.
