The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt to arrest robbers who shot two policemen on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Poyamirea on the outskirts of Binduri in the Upper East Region.

According to a police statement, the deceased officers were in mufti and riding a private motorbike – traveling from Bongo to Binduri when they were attacked.

Preliminary police investigations indicate that the officers’ motorbike was taken away by the robbers.

The names of the officers have been withheld as efforts are underway to properly notify their families in accordance with custom and tradition.

“We would like to assure the general public that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be arrested and brought to face justice; and we will surely get them,” the statement noted.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police and Director of Public Affairs, Grace Ansah-Akrofi.

The statement also conveyed the Police Administration’s deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the Commander, as well as all officers and men in the region.
