The Minority Caucus in Parliament, led by Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has generously donated GHC 200,000 to assist the victims of the recent Adum fire disaster.

During the donation event, Minority Leader Afenyo-Markin urged President John Dramani Mahama to promptly allocate funds to support those affected by the fire.

“We came here with a brief message; when we heard about the disaster in Adum, we were still in session in Parliament. We made it a priority to find time to come and greet you all.

“We’re here with a brief statement, and witnessing the devastation firsthand is markedly different from seeing it on television.

“As we stand here, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in Parliament have also contributed a sum of money, which has been given to the executives to ensure they can effectively assist those who have lost their properties.

“After the contributions, we had an amount of GHC 200,000.00, which is equivalent to Ghc 2 billion in the old currency,” he stated.
