A tragic accident occurred early Friday, May 2, 2025, near Danase in the Afigya Kwabre South District of Ashanti Region involving an ambulance transporting a critically ill patient and a Toyota vehicle.
The collision happened around 10:00 a.m. as the ambulance was en route from Offinso to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
According to reports, the Toyota, which was headed from Kumasi toward Offinso, attempted to overtake another vehicle and crashed into the ambulance.
“The ambulance was headed from Offinso to Komfo Anokye Hospital, and the Toyota was also coming from Kumasi, headed toward the Offinso road,” Angel News’ Bismark Mensah reported.
“The Toyota was overtaking when it crashed into the ambulance, leaving one person critically injured and on the brink of death,” he said.
Thankfully, the patient being transported and the driver of the ambulance are safe, he added.
